ESTIMATOR (Full-Time)
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking employee to join our Estimating Team. Excellent attendance is required daily to meet our customers' expectations and deadlines. Our customers are typically general contractors building new facilities or remodeling hospitals, doctors' offices, banks, schools, and other commercial spaces. The pay is based on your skills and/or estimating experience, and we will train the right candidate to use our systems.

The required qualifications for this position include the following:

Strong analytical skills to be able to understand architectural drawings and specifications.

Strong focus on accuracy with a sharp eye for details, which is critical in estimating costs.

Must be organized, self-motivated, and have a desire to learn and grow.

The ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and through written correspondence. Good grammar and spelling are a must.

The ability to travel to job sites and move freely around a construction site that may not have a working elevator or lift.

The ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
The preferred qualifications (but not required as we will train the right person) for this position include the following:

A background in millwork and/or construction with hands-on exposure to building/repair.

Familiarity with estimating software integrated with manufacturing ERP systems.

Computer proficiency in Windows, basic Excel spreadsheet knowledge, and Microsoft Outlook and Office programs.
The duties of the Estimator position include:

Calculating the total costs of the projects being bid, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses.

Prepare and submit detailed bids for projects, sometimes involving gathering quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring the bid is competitive yet profitable.

Work closely with the project managers and drafters on each project.

Making and receiving daily phone calls regarding bids.

Downloading and updating all electronic files associated with each bid.

Maintaining the bidding folder with the most current drawings and addenda.
This is a full-time, in-person, salaried position at our Davenport office. We are an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) and offer a 401(k) plan, partially company-paid health insurance, and a full suite of optional benefits paid by the employee.
